J U L Y 2 0 0 7 2007/07/16 LE GROS BÉBÉ GÂTÉ ET SES MILLE SOUPIRS Well, I am so sorry for not writing here for such a long time. I wanted to do so, but I was out of inspiration, and I was very tired. I did not get a lot of sleep these days because I have a job now, my very first one, and it is about time too. :P I am working as a Summer Student at the Meakins-Christie Laboratories, and guess who gave me the job. Yup, I know that I am very fortunate to have met him. I do all sort of experiments, and I am trying to do everything as perfectly as I can to not screw up other people's projects, but it is expected that I will commit many errors along the way. The team is quite cool, and they think that I am this sort of Math Wizard because they got wind that I worked with their boss on his math... I still feel uncomfortable with the idea of working. Besides, it is my first job, so I may need some time to adjust myself to be part of the working force. Yes, I know, I may also be a little spoiled. However, I am getting more and more used to it and better at it. It also appeared that I killed at the last meeting. I made everybody laugh, but I am not sure if they were laughing at my jokes or at my incompetence. I miss the time before I had my job, when I was comfortably relaxing in my room, watching The Nanny on YouTube. I was hooked, and now that I am a bit older, I finally got all of those subtle dirty jokes. :P I can't wait to find some more time to get out and visit the summer festivities around the city, but working from 9 to 5, my day is nearly finished. I do not have much time either to study my Chinese lessons, but I admit that I got discouraged with all of those measure words. It also became tedious to write those characters over and over again. It has been so long since the last time I went out, I know that I went out last week to see Mexico and its overall boring firework display, but that did not count because I was alone. :P I also went out on the 29th because I had free tickets to see Les Impacts de Montréal, which I still do not know which team had won because I had to leave due to the rain. That day was also the first time I went out in two weeks, and talk about luck, I was even stopped by the police! POLICIÈRE: Allô! Hello! JU JING: Euh... Allô! POLICIÈRE: Vous faites quoi ici, Monsieur? Où vous en allez de même? JU JING: Ben... Chez moi... POLICIÈRE: Vous venez de où? JU JING: Ben... Du métro... Angrignon... POLICIÈRE: Euh gnah ugh ah okay... Vous savez le parc est fermé. JU JING: Ben... Ça ferme à quelle heure? POLICIÈRE: À minuit. JU JING: Pis, yé quelle heure? POLICIÈRE: Minuit! JU JING: Ben... 'Garde, j'suis correct lah, j'suis tout près de la sortie. POLICIÈRE: Okay, bye... JU JING: ... It was about 23:57 when they questionned me. Had they not stopped me, I would have had enough time to get myself out of there. I am sure that they were feminists like Mika Brzezinski in her questionnably heroic act of refusing to report a story about our beloved Paris Hilton, but why act so tough, Mika? Oh look at me, I'm Mika. I'm not going to present this story because I'm sick of all this Paris talk. I'm going to burn this story. Give me that lighter! G'argh! *walking to the shredder machine* So, what's the matter, Mika? Can't handle a little competition? Just do your job and tell the world the story like you were supposed to. I just think that she is jealous of Paris' fame and the attention she receives. I am sure that she thinks that she gives a terrible image and example to girls and that she can't accept it, right? Typical feminist! *sigh* I also heard that Paris' vagina is one of the World Wonders too. :P Speaking of World Wonders, the seven "new" Wonders of the World have been announced on the lucky day (i.e. 7/7/7), and frankly, what is that big statue of Jesus doing in there? I honestly rather see a Moai than this effigy of Jesus. I mean, no offense, but what's so special about that guy anyway? The only thing he can say (and always be right about) is that his father is stronger than anybody else's. :P Pfff! Anyway, that night was very disappointing. Even that stupid restaurant Souvenirs de Bangkok. Trust me, I do not want to remember that place for sure. The Pad Gai was so awful, it was like this Chow Mein in a sweet soup, and the beef wasn't cooked properly! At the end, it costed 9,05$ (7,9$5 + tax!!!) with a 0,95$ tip. What a rip off! I also got out on the following day, and I just basically walked around the city with Alanna. We ate our emotions with two of our friends, Ben and Jerry. :P The view of the city at night was amazing from the mountain, and there were so many people downtown because of the many things happening in the city. Coming out of the long traffic in the Jazz Festival, I came accross my EEF, which was totally awkward, whom by the way, I had seen on the following Friday as if nothing ever did happen. Anyway... Awkward! :P I have met quite a few familiar faces over the past week, well, not really a lot of faces, just Le Grand Schtroumpf on Friday... :P Anyway, sometimes at my job, I really have nothing to do because I work fast and effectively, so feel free to give me a call on my brother's cellphone. If I don't answer, that means my hand is in some chemicals or in some animal's lungs. It is already Monday, and I need to go to sleep soon to get up early in the morning. I hate Mondays now. :P 2007/07/19 C'EST VENDREDI DEMAIN J'ai déjà hâte à la fin de semaine pour me reposer, mais j'ai quand même beaucoup dormi cette semaine. Je ne suis pas si fatigué que ça... Cette semaine a vraiment mal commencé au travail. Rien ne marchait dans ce que je faisais et j'ai failli briser une machine. :P Tout le monde a été quand même fin avec moi, sauf que parfois, la fille qui me surveille me fait attendre pour rien. Elle me fait faire des choses intéressantes au moins, comparé aux autres «Summer Students». J'ai un projet à faire et je sais maintenant comment extraire les poumons d'un souris. J'espère que la prochaine fois, ce sera avec un rat. Ce serait le fun si au fur et à mesure, l'animal en question devenait de plus en plus gros. :P Mais bon, je commence à aimer mon job parce que j'ai socialisé un peu et beaucoup de monde aime ça quand je parle pendant les réunions. Il parâit aussi que je serais bon à faire du théâtre avec ma voix grave. :P Malgré certaines de mes chinoiseries, je ne me suis pas encore fait chicaner. Desfois, oui, mais ce n'était pas comme vendredi passé au Super C quand une cassière bitch m'a gueulé après juste parce que j'ouvrais des sacs de plastique. Tsé, elle pensait que je faisais ça pour le fun, mais elle ne pouvait pas voir ce que je ferai avec les sacs que j'ai ouverts. C'est pour mettre quoi là-dedans d'après toi? 'Sti qu'est conne! Tsé, a menstruit ou quoi? Je sortirais toujours gagnant de ce genre de bitchage inutile. Je peux même jouer avec la couleur de ma peau pour m'en faire sortir au pire, mais je ne suis pas comme le coach de football de Nigéria qui crie racisme quand son équipe perd! :P Cependant, le match d'aujourd'hui était vraiment mais vraiment décevant! Mes Chiliens ont perdu! :'( L'arbitre allemand était juste trop aveugle, biaisé et con! Oui, les Argentins ont bien joué quand même, mais le match était trop poche à cause de l'arbitre. J'espère juste qu'ils vont battre les Tchèques! Au moins le goaler chilien a fait un record... Ça me console un petit peu... Alanna, je pense que j'ai fait quelque chose de pas correct mardi passé comme la dernière fois d'ailleurs. Pis tsé l'autre fois avec l'EEF? Ben aujourd'hui... Ouais... :P Je pense que je ne déteste plus marcher sous la pluie... So, La, La, La, La, La, La, La... 2007/07/20 C'EST LA FIN DE SEMAINE Another week has already gone by, and I can finally relax for a change, but it will not last long... Time flies too fast. I feel like going out a bit, but with this Irish weather, I will stay at home. I want to stay dry. I had walked too much now in the rain. Anything new? Not really... I've been told today at my job that I was rude, but me, rude? Really? No. There is surely a line drawn between being rude and simply being honest. I mean, why should I keep certain things to myself even though it may be the truth? I just wanted to help... Anyway... I went to eat at some Chinese restaurant in the LaCité, and I was really disappointed! That prawn and lobster sauce on some noodles was disgusting! What a waste, I want my 8,55$ back! Perhaps I will go back and give it another chance. Anyway, I don't know what to write now, accept things about some BG from the metro to the lab, but that's another story. :P 2007/07/22 IL FAISAIT BEAU HIER Hier, la journée était comme vraiment belle, mais pour une raison quelconque, il y a eu une panne d'électricité dans mon secteur de 15h05 à 23h45!!! :@ Maudit secteur de Verdun à marde! :P Une chance qu'il ne faisait pas chaud sinon lah... Mais bon, il n'y avait pas de bruit chez moi et quand le soleil s'est couché, il faisait vraiment noir! On n'y voyait plus rien! J'ai pu au moins réviser certaines de mes leçons chinoises et je m'en rappelle quand même bien tout ce que j'ai appris jusqu'à date. J'ai hâte que ça commence à parler des choses qui me seront utiles dans la vie comme comment insulter les Chinois, commander au restaurant... :P En tout cas, je trouvais ça long parce que je n'avais rien à faire. Je me suis consolé après en regardant Kill Bill 2 sur CBC, mais c'était vraiment trop poche comme film. Je m'attendais à quelque chose de bon. Le premier était nettement meilleur, mais c'est juste moi... :P 
Aujourd'hui marque la dernière journée de la coupe mondiale FIFA U-20 et le Canada doit avoir honte de son équipe! Je ne dis pas plus. :PEt regarde ce logo, on dirait que c'est un timbre... :P Mais en gros, je suis moyennement satisfait. :) Mes Chiliens se placent au troisième rang après avoir battu l'équipe autrichienne (Austria sucks! No wonder the von Trapps fled to Switzerland (Awww, la Suisse... :P).), mais la demi-finale des Chiliens a été mauvaise! Même moi, qui ne suis pas un expert, sais bien que ce match-là était injuste au bout. Mais, entre les Argentins ou les Tchèques, je dois m'en aller avec les Argentins parce que je hais l'autre équipe, car elle ne sait même pas comment bien jouer, tsé. Okay, oui, leur stratégie de jouer à la défensive est bonne, mais je n'appelle pas ça jouer... Mais bon, yay, l'Argentine a gagné! :D En tout cas, assez de tappage ici, je dois rédiger un rapport et ça se peut que je doive le présenter à la prochaine réunion... *sigh* Je déteste les lundis, mais je me suis dit que ce job va me permettre de sortir de la maison au moins et rencontrer du beau monde. J'ai aussi l'impression que ça va être relaxe cette semaine. Alors, donne-moi un coup de fil! 2007/07/23 ANY PANDA HUGGERS AROUND? "Panda Hugger"? Awww... C'est tout cute! :D 2007/07/24 MMM... I LIKE MILK Sometimes, I feel that working at my job is just a joke because I do not feel productive at well. I would like to see at least some progress in my work, but I just don't. Perhaps the week is still too young. I had a lot of time to waste today, so I did a few "funny" quizzes. My results made people laugh. I mean, what's so bad about still being single? Apparently, I do not invest enough time in finding the right one, but what do I know? It's just some quiz... My horoscope tells me something different, and perhaps my future will be a good one if I still keep the faith. Anyway... I came back home quite late tonight... I met up with a friend, and we just ate quite a lot. Ben & Jerry's is now cheap! They give us only one ice-cream ball now instead of two. I knew it that it was too good to be true... :P I had my supper at Au Vieux Duluth, and to my big surprise, the food was actually delicious. The price (8,56$ with tax) and the quantity was fair, but tt was worth it. I always thought that the meat would be dry and that the beef was brown nanchos. :P I also got my library card, which was much easier than I thought. I just showed my driver's license and gave my phone number. However, I don't know when it will be the next time I will even step into that library. I might go back soon to see what I can borrow. On my way home, I saw some fireflies in the woods, and I didn't even know that they have them here in Quebec. It's quite nice to see... I also glanced at the stars with this guy, and we saw an UFO! It was the some one I saw in the park a couple of years ago. It may be a satellite, but I doubt it... :P Anyway, it is time to go to bed now. I may have to talk tomorrow at the meeting, and I can feel the pressure to be funny and entertaining again. It seems that they are in love with my voice and the way how I present... Well, g'night... 
2007/07/25 NO YOU DIDN'T! YES I DID!  This website is sort of like a life saver! I was able to transfer some big files over the net withough bringing my USB stick. It is too good to be true, so I am sure that there must be some catch in it... :P So, I was able to transfer some files to my own computer so that I can do it here and not there. I have like 31 100 genes to analyze, and I do not know where to start. *sigh* Words seem to travel quite fast around the office. Everyone seems to know who I am while I don't even know them at all. Even those Chinese workers start talking to me, and they already know that I come from Malaysia. :S At least I can practice my mandarin with them, and it appears that my pronunciation is totally off track. :( Well, I also tore my pants today. It was so hot and humid that it made me sweat all day. As I walked, the friction between my legs shredded the fabric, and the hole was really like 20 cm accross! *sigh* It might be my skin or something like that too... Anyway, it's going to be hot tomorrow! :( 2007/07/29 ALLEZ, FAITES-MOI UN BEAU GROS SOURIRE Mais mon sourire est laid... *covering smile with the geisha hand* Un ami voulait que je lui fasse un sourire. Je pense qu'il croyait que j'étais triste et il voulait me consoler. Cute, non? :P J'avais peut-être besoin de recevoir ce genre d'attention... En tout cas, je viens de passer la soirée dans une espèce de party entre mes collègues du travail, question de dire au revoir à du monde qui va retourner en Europe, mais c'était pour moi une de ces genres d'activité qui tentait de socialiser le monde du bureau. Je demeurais indifférent tout au long de la soirée et je me sentais un peu reject parce que tout le monde fumait pis buvais alors que ce n'était pas tout à fait pour moi ça... Je voulais tellement aller voir les feux ce soir, mais j'avais cette obligation. En fait, je n'aurais jamais dû me présenter parce que personne ne pensaient que je serai là, tsé. Wow... J'ai même été témoin d'un côté caché de mon milieu de travail et je peux maintenant comprendre ce qu'Alanna me disait l'autre jour. Je n'en reviens pas de la présence de ce bitchage constant dans le dos du monde. Je ne veux même pas imaginer ce qu'ils se disent dans mon dos, tsé... Je n'ai vraiment pas hâte de retourner au travail lundi. La semaine que je venais de passer était une vraie joke et je n'ai rien appris parce que je n'ai rien fait. Je pense que je suis de plus en plus découragé avec tout ça. Je sais que certaines personnes sont vraiment gentilles au laboratoire, mais il faut se méfier quand même... Mais bon, je ferai de mon mieux de travailler fort et de rester neutre face à tout ça, comme la Suisse (Awww, la Suisse... :P) avec le reste du monde. :P Il va falloir que je dorme bientôt pour dormir comme il faut. Ça faisait comme deux jours de suite que je me suis endormi sur mon lit à 20h00... :P En tout cas, je garderai un sourire sur mon visage malgré tout ça... B A C K F O W A R D H O M E |
